Mayor Mayhew is at the ice cream shop in historic downtown for an hour of ice cream and cookies. The city lists it as a meet-the-mayor stop, not a ticketed program.

Paper mache pumpkin contest

Bring a finished paper mache pumpkin to the front desk any day the branch is open in October. Judges pick winners in a few categories, and the library will say who won by Nov 7. Paper is available at the desk if you need it.

A morning of planting in the city’s climate-adaptation demonstration forest. It is a work party, not a festival: neighbors plant trees and hear how the new grove is meant to handle a hotter, drier season. The city points people to the site across from the high school.

Fall City has no city page of its own, so the farm is listed here. The patch is open Friday through Sunday from Sep 26 through Oct 31. The farm serves hot mini doughnuts and cider, and visitors can see the animals and pick a pumpkin. Leave pets at home.

An open build for all ages. Bricks and other construction toys are on the tables. Stay for the whole session or stop in for a few minutes. The Friends of the Snoqualmie Library sponsor it. No registration.
Halloween Train

The Northwest Railway Museum runs a family ride from the Snoqualmie Depot, with another boarding point in North Bend. Coaches are dressed for fall. At the stop by the Train Shed there is cider pressing, apple coring, crafts, and music. Costumes are welcome if you can manage the steps. Tickets are required for ages 2 and up. Departures from Snoqualmie start at 11:00 a.m. and run every two hours. The museum’s wine train is a separate, 21-and-over trip.

Spooktacular Halloween

A free city afternoon in three stops. Begin on Snoqualmie Ridge, walk to the trunk-or-treat in the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA parking lot (that stop runs until 3:00 p.m.), and continue into historic downtown. The YMCA leg is co-sponsored by the city and Sno Falls Credit Union.
Treasure Hunt

Two clue trails, one for children and one for teens and adults. Finish the map and race for the prize. The first finishers in each trail win something, and there are snacks. The teen advisory board planned it, with help from the Friends of the library. Come alone or in a group.

Urban farmer Lisa Taylor leads a music-and-movement hour about the slimy workers in an organic garden: slugs, snails, and red worms. It is at the Fall City branch, listed here because Fall City has no separate page.
