Zombie Dash
Lake Wilderness Park, Beach Lawn
A mile-long family fun run through the park, with playful obstacles and zombie actors who try to grab flags. Waves start every 15 minutes from 9:45 to 11:00 a.m. Check in on the Beach Lawn at least 15 minutes before your wave. The fee is $35. The recommended age is 13 and older. Runners younger than 13 may come with an adult. Ages 10 and up can join the 11:00 a.m. friendlier wave. The page says register by 8:00 a.m. on Mon Sep 28 for a guaranteed t-shirt. Registration closes Mon Oct 12 at 8:00 a.m., or when a wave fills.
Story Walk Read-Along
Lake Wilderness Arboretum, information booth
Librarian Sharon reads the Story Walk book outdoors, then families can stay and play in the Children’s Forest. Meet at the arboretum information booth at 10:25 a.m. Dress for the weather. The library cancels for high winds, snow, or poor air quality. Registration is not required. The farmers market is open the same morning at the Legacy Site, and the Zombie Dash waves start earlier at Lake Wilderness Park.
